DeWayne Crocker, Jr is a singer, songwriter, and producer born and raised in Pensacola, FL. Coming up, music seemed always to find its way to DeWayne, from singing at home to singing with the church choir.
Discovering his love for music and performance at an early age, DeWayne has been singing since he was just five years old. DeWayne has been a household name through his local communities for quite some time, but it was not until his viral social media moments in recent years that led him to reach fans in a broader spectrum and took his music career to new heights.
Since the age of 16, DeWayne has had many fortunate opportunities to travel and sing professionally, performing with and for some of the industry's best voices, musicians, and producers. In 2015, he was the youngest contestant to go on and compete in a rigorous auditioning and training process for the final contestant selection for BET's Sunday's Best, where his voice and soul impacted every judge, contestant, and spectator on set.
With more than 60 million digital views across Youtube and Facebook, DeWayne has gained notoriety worldwide and has been fortunate enough to grace some of the biggest stages and platforms in the music industry. DeWayne was blessed to compete on Season 18 of American Idol in 2019. His journey on the show was so captivating that the producers asked him to return as a Comeback Candidate the following year, which elevated DeWayne's platform and passion for his faith. DeWayne uses his music not only to minister but to set a standard for his generation. "I want others to know that your dreams can become a reality. You have to stay faithful, focused, hear, and follow the path that God has laid out for you. It may not be instantaneous, but it always happens at the right time," said DeWayne in an interview on ABC.
DeWayne's ministry in music has granted him some fantastic opportunities to share his voice and ministry with a variety of audiences, including being asked to sing at the wedding nuptials of Tennis legend Serena Williams and now-husband Alexis Ohanian in 2017. The star-studded event included guests such as Beyonce, Venus Williams, Kelly Rowland, and many more.
He is currently a transferring junior at Oral Robert's University in Tulsa, OK. He is majoring in Biblical Literature and minoring in Business Administration.
